It was a huge week at the Allen house...both boys starting school on Thursday, and welcoming a baby sister to the world on Friday. Needless to say, mommy was pretty overcome with emotions. I still vividly remember the days that each of these handsome little guys were born, so how on earth can they be starting preschool and Kindergarten already?? Time stalls for no one, so instead, we tried to make it a special day for them and I tried to get through with as few tears as possible.
We got up early, got dressed, made sure backpacks were all stuffed, and the boys obliged their camera-happy mom with some 1st day of school pictures.
Carter's 1st day of Kindergarten: 8-16-12.
5 1/2 years old!
Part excitement, mixed with a few nerves, loving his new Spiderman backpack!
Asher's 1st day of preschool: 8-16-12.
3 years old!
So very excited to finally be going to school, just like Carter!
After the pictures, we headed to the donut shop for a special 1st day of school breakfast treat!
Daddy met us at school after football practice to deliver the boys to their classrooms. Getting ready to head inside!Asher found the hook with his name on it!
Stretching to hang up his backpack with Miss Becky.
As we walked into Carter's classroom, he was very quiet, but his friend Joe came right up to him and gave him a BIG hug, saying "I like your backpack, Carter!" Just what he needed to warm up that morning :). So cute.
He sat down at his table and got to work on some puzzles...and momma tried to hide her tears behind her camera.
This is the biggest Kindergarten class St. Joe's has seen in something like 12+ years...there are 19 students in the class!
Carter and his teacher, Mrs. Burghart.
We had to stop in the preschool classroom as well, and look what we found! Three incredibly cute, incredibly ornery little blonde boys. Asher, Cole and Cru looked more than ready to rock preschool...is preschool ready for them? And of course, Asher ratted me out first thing..."Mommy, why are you crying?"
Love that little booger!
Asher and his teacher, Miss Becky.
Here's to a fantastic school year for both of our boys and all of their friends! Many adventures await you and we are so excited and proud of you both!
