I've really been slacking on the updates...this one will be extra long to catch everyone up on the last couple months. In no particular order...
Carter is walking like a pro now! He started about a month ago and quickly progressed from 4 or 5 random steps to walking all across the house on his own will. He now chooses to walk most of the time instead of crawling. He's pretty steady by now, but occasionally he thinks he can "run" and then he crashes. We've got multiple bruises on his noggin' to prove it. I keep telling people I'm glad he's finally getting more hair to cover up some of the bruises! People would think we beat the poor kid :(
We celebrated Carter's 1st birthday last weekend. What a party! At first he wasn't quite sure what to think about his cake, but as soon as mommy gave him a few bites, he dug right in. He ate over 2/3 of his cake and also had it smeared from head to toe--literally! Needless to say, he didn't sleep well that night...can we say sugar high? Lots of family and friends celebrated Carter's big day with us and we thank everyone who remembered him on this special occasion.
Carter has visited two pumpkin patches over the last few weeks and really didn't care for either one. Maybe next year? He also suited up in his skunk costume and joined the Halloween parade downtown last week. Cora (zebra), Addie (monkey) and Carter made quite the little jungle cruising down main street. He really didn't hate his costume as badly as I expected...more skunk pictures to come later this week.
At Carter's 1-year appointment, he weighed in at 26 lbs., 7 oz., and stretched out to 31 inches long. He also had to have 5 shots plus the flu shot last Friday...it was a sad day for Carter & mommy and everyone had strict orders to spoil him rotten that day.
Bullpup football is trucking right along! We earned a 1st round home playoff game this Saturday...Carter's made it to all the home games, but he still refuses to clap. Stubborn kid, but he sure looks cute in his bullpup gear!
We're down to only 3 bottles a day, and have made the switch to whole milk. He loves to eat what we're eating and pretty much forces his way between you and the plate in order to get a bite. He's such a happy little guy (most of the time) and is very social. He doesn't care who is paying attention to him, just as long as someone is! Still just the two bottom teeth, but he's a droolin' fool again...we're thinking another one or two will show their face anyday.
We want to congratulate Ben & Tiffany on the birth of their baby boy, Reed! Hurry out of the NICU Reed, Carter's got lots to teach you :)
We'll try to do better with updates...take care--Happy Halloween!
