Carter has been a busy baby lately--his social calendar has been jam packed. We spent the last weekend of April in KC for a family wedding. He had his first swimming experience there with daddy. He was in shock for most of the adventure, but since then he's been kicking and splashing a LOT in his ducky tub, so I think he's ready to try it again.
Two new friends were born recently...Congrats to Beth & Layne on baby Caden and Dustin & Heidi on baby Brynn. Carter got to welcome them both at the hospital and he's so excited to have more baby friends to play with.
Since we wrote last, we had Carter's 6 month well-check. He's weighing in at a whopping 20 lbs., 10 oz. and stretches to 27 1/2 inches long. That was the signal to mom & dad that it was time to get a new carseat, as we were about to surpass the weight limit! And a growing boy needs food! We jumped right into the baby foods recently and he's LOVING them all! So far we've tried sweet potatoes, squash, peas (YUCK says mom), green beans and peaches. The first bite of each new food is slow, but after that he chows down...attacking the spoon.
Carter also enjoyed his first All School's Day. Daddy took the day off work to spend with us and we had a great time at the parade. Carter loved the bands, especially the drums. Dad thinks we should get him a drum set...mom's not quite ready for that noise yet. Also, this weekend Carter got up on all fours. He rocks back and forth thinking he's pretty big stuff, then he face plants into the carpet. We don't think it will be too long before he's very mobile. Watch out world...
