Once again, it's been way too long since our last update. Carter is growing and learning every day. He had to finish up his 1-year immunizations last week and I set him on the scale on our way out of the office. Granted, he was fully clothed and had his bulky tennis shoes on, but he weighed 29 lbs., 14 oz.!! I'm guessing he's close to 29 lbs. naked...that boy can eat! We've determined that he will never let us know that he's full, so we need to just give him his meals and call it good, otherwise, he'll just keep eating! Speaking of food, he loves it all! He eats pretty much everything we have...still filling in with baby food every once in awhile. But if we're eating later in the evening after he's been fed, he is crawling up our laps trying to get a bite. Very aggressive little booger.
The walking phase lasted for about 10 minutes and now Carter RUNS everywhere. Most times he gets going faster than his legs will allow and he faceplants into the carpet, tile, concrete, whatever is around. Bumps and bruises are pretty much part of his daily outfit. He's really started to morph into this little man...hardly looks like a baby anymore! He's gotten three new teeth in the last two weeks and another is breaking through. Needless to say, he's not been the most pleasant child lately, but I guess we're getting several out of the way at once.
Carter also LOVES to get into everything. Chris put baby proof latches on our kitchen and bathroom cabinets and that really made Carter mad. He pulls and pulls on them and growls because he can't get in. Then the fits begin...He's already broken three of the latches in his angry rage...he is a strong little guy! So, we're starting over on the baby-proofing--we're gonna try the magnetic locks...if he busts through those, I'm gonna find him an agent.
Mommy put up the Christmas tree Thanksgiving weekend while Carter was napping. When he woke up, he was in awe at our new "pretty." Within 10 minutes he'd swiped one of the glass ball ornaments off the tree and threw it on the tile floor in the ktichen--hoping it would BOUNCE. It didn't. Mommy cleaned up that mess, luckily he hasn't stolen too many more ornaments yet.
He is Mr. "Uh-Oh" lately. While driving to daycare, he sits in the backseat saying "uh-oh, uh-oh, uh-oh." We're trying to teach him Ho-Ho-Ho before Christmas, but he's pretty stubborn.
Finally, we want to welcome Carter's new little friends into the world. Mommy's best friends from high school both had babies recently 5 weeks early! We love you Reed & Adyson!
