Easter 2013 (part 2)

On Easter Sunday, the boys woke up and headed straight for their baskets...their main gift this year from the bunny was circus tickets!
Hayden wasn't sure what all the fuss was about...
...until she found the Easter grass! Her favorite part!
Mom insisted on one more quick photo before church (they love me and my camera!).
After church, we high-tailed it to Salina to attend Grandma & Papa's church and witness cousin Brauer's baptism. No pics of that, because we slid in to church just as he was getting dunked! But we saw it!! :) We had a yummy lunch at Golden Corral, then back to Grandma & Papa's house for a BEAUTIFUL day of family fun.

Hayden and her very pretty, getting much too big cousin, Morgan.
A couple of attempts at a family picture...yep, this is the best we got. Eh, it's real life, people.

All of the grandkids plus Ethan & Evan (second cousins).
Ready to hunt for some (more) eggs!

Carter started out with this little bitty basket (bad mom forgot to bring their baskets from home). It quickly started overflowing...
...Aunt Tammy to the rescue with a bigger sack to hold all of his loot!
 McKenna

Grandma had a table set up for the kids to decorate sugar cookies...they loved it! I love this pic of my little baker boy.

And the rest of the day was spent with lots of basketball, sunshine and good times with the fam.

Easter 2013 (part 1)

I have so many Easter related pictures, I'm going to split this post into two parts. A few weeks before Easter, I must have been feeling brave, because I got the kids all gussied up, set up my backdrop and attempted some formal Easter photos.

As is usually the case, we got a few decent ones...

...and a WHOLE LOT MORE that just made me laugh. And of course, I was sweating by the end of our little photo shoot. There is a reason why photographers charge so much money! ;)

The Saturday before Easter, we always attend the Optimists Egg Hunt in the park. There are huge masses of kids and thousands of little chocolate eggs scattered all over the ground. We always come home with pounds of chocolate.

Ash & Cru checking out their haul.

Hayden had to show off her fancy toenails...painted for the very first time for Easter! Funny side note: painting a busy baby's toenails is no easy task. After a couple of failed attempts, I finally snuck into her room while she was napping one day, with a headlamp attached to my head and got the job done. No pictures are available of that. ;)
Hard telling what they were plotting...
The annual Easter bunny picture...Hayden's first!
 We found Hunter Man, too!

That night, the Buchmans invited us over for a glow-in-the-dark egg hunt! I wish I could have captured how awesome this was on camera, but no such luck--taking pictures in the dark is tough! It was so fun to see all the glowing eggs scattered over their lawn! Just use your imagination...

Thanks for the fun, Buchmans!

A play date with Josie

Just a few snapshots of an impromptu play date with our friends Lana & Josie at the Lindsborg park.
