Carter enjoyed another year of Rec League basketball. This is definitely not his favorite sport, but I'm proud of him for giving it his all, and learning the skills/rules of this life sport. And any activity he participates in, means good exercise and burned energy. :)

Rounding out 2013: Misc. pictures and events
Just a few photos I took on my phone that I thought were worth documenting...
A Christmas luncheon at Grandma & Papa's church, along with a visit with Santa. Some enjoyed it more than others.
An evening with a few of my college girlfriends, wine and snacks. Why, oh why don't all wine bottles have screw-top caps???
We and some friends decided to try a little something different and went to a Murder Mystery Dinner Theater at an italian restaurant in a neighboring town. The weather was very sketchy (think 30 mph driving on the interstate), and the show kinda stunk, but the food was fantastic, and we had lots of laughs with good friends. You win some, you lose some!
(And then the guys got to dig our van out of the snow banks so we could head home!)
Another santa visit after the Winter Wonderland train rides here in town.

NYE & Ugly Sweaters with the Allen/Jilka families
Let's get ready to PAAARTY!!
Since Aunt Angie wasn't home in time for Christmas, we saved our much-anticipated gag gift exchange for New Year's Eve, so she could participate. Somewhere along the line, an Ugly Sweater theme was suggested as well, so we rolled it all in to one big party!
Tammy was channeling her inner sister-wife.
Ryan & Kerrie's family (minus Natalie)
Rob & Tammy's family
Our dashing family
Even the 4-legged family members wore sweaters!
The gift exchange was raunchy as usual. We always send the children downstairs during this part of the evening. These people hunt all year long for the *perfect* gifts to exchange. Lots of laughs!
Use your imagination. ;)
Mr. Allen is well aware that if he ruins my pictures, I will indeed post them for everyone to see.
Happy New Year!!!
