All School's Day

All School's Day came and went again this year and what a beautiful day it was! The entire county is out of school, most of the businesses are closed and probably close to 10,000 people crowd Main St. for the hour-and-a half long parade. You have to experience it to know the true excitement, and I think living here my whole life makes it even more special. It's been so awesome to see that same excitement in our boys' eyes each year as they witness the parade.Carter and Mal looked like political billboards after they were plastered with campaign stickers!Ash got to try some smoothie...YUM!Reese stopped by before the parade began...they were all so excited, they could hardly stand still! The mommies...Watching the bands.
Asher and Cole...Cole absolutely love the bands...he was boogeying the whole time.
Our friends Tiff and Reanna were in the parade! Carter saw the big fire trucks coming!
They waved at anyone and everyone. Do you notice that they're eating in almost every picture? Candy overload! And just for fun...we've been attending the parade with our friends the Coopers ever since our kids were born. Here's a glimpse back at Carter and Mal since their first May Day four years ago.

Last day of soccer.

Two weeks ago was Carter's last day of soccer. We met up with Reanna in the parking lot and off they went.
Carter attempting his drop-kick again.
Reanna in action. There was a little body-checking going on that last week.Asher found some soccer balls as well.
He figured out the kicking thing real quick!
And at the end they all got certificates...Carter couldn't have cared less. He wanted to play some more soccer.

KC Trip - part two

Sunday turned out to be a chilly, dreary day, but we were ready for the big Royals game. The boys geared up in their "royal" blue and were itching to go.We stopped in front of the fountains first thing for a quick family picture.Next, we headed to the Little K to let Carter take some batting practice. Aunt Lou & Unc waited patiently... Daddy attempted to keep Asher busy...
...which was NOT an easy task. The boys took a quick photo with Slugger.
And then it was time to step up to the plate. Rounding the bases...And sliding into home plate!Asher enjoyed the view from the other side of the fence (and he enjoyed tasting that same fence!).Then we took a spin on the carousel. The Royals actually won the game 4-3...shocker! Asher & I didn't see too much of the game...Ash wanted to MOVE.
Afterwards, we were first in line to run the bases on the real field. We walked all the way around the outfield and ended up at first base."Can I run now?" Carter crossing home plate.
And Asher crossing home plate. We had a rather lengthy wait for our shuttle bus, so the boys sat still for one more picture. Of course, Asher had to be chewing on something.

KC trip - part one.

Long time, no blog! The weekend after my birthday we traveled to Kansas City with my parents, sister and brother-in-law for a Royals game. Carter had won some free tickets to a game, so we decided to make a weekend of it! We stayed at the Holiday Inn right across from Kauffman Stadium, and they have a fun indoor waterpark connected to the hotel called CoCo Key Resort.

Carter and Crappaw climbing up the rope bridge. No running, Carter!
Getting a boost from Crappaw for some baskteball.
He's having a blast!
They had a huge playhouse in the middle of the waterpark.
Daddy and the boys playing in the fountains.
Asher loved the fountains.
They had an area with little slides that were just the right size for Carter. He spent LOTS of time going down these slides.
Cruisin' the lazy river with Aunt Lou and Unc. Asher chewing on his watering can.And both boys were beat by the end of the evening!
