Work hard, play hard.

The Allen, Lies and Holmes families had a garage sale last weekend at our house. The turnout was ok (smaller than our previous sales), but we earned a little extra fun money for our KC trip this weekend. Poor Aunt Lou barely made enough to cover the gas in her truck, but we had fun anyways!

Carter and Mal enjoyed a little "sticker fun." One person's junk = a toddler's treasure! Reanna also stopped by for some fun!
We were all very hot, sweaty, tired and grouchy after several hours of selling and clean-up. We determined that garage sales drive us to drink! We all enjoyed some yummy frozen drinks Saturday night--Carter had the unleaded kind, of course :). Carter helping Grammy mix drinks. Future bartender maybe? Asher getting hugs from his big brother--see the joy on his face? He'd rather just chew on his fists. After the hard work on Saturday, we enjoyed some swimming on Sunday. Carter took private swimming lessons all week last week in Lindsborg. His teacher said that for 2 1/2, he did very well! He learned to breathe out his nose under water, go under water for several seconds, float on his back, kick correctly and jump off the side and go under. We can definitely see a big difference in his confidence and skills in the water even after one week! He loves to go under now!

Margo sent some goggles home to play with!
Splash wars with grandpa! This kid could jump in the pool over and over for HOURS!
Just say no to crack--2-year-old crack is pretty cute, though.
And after all that fun in the sun, we finally made it to bedtime. Carter likes to read stories to us these days, instead of vice versa. Sunday night after I turned out his lights, I heard Carter messing around in bed rehearsing his swimming lesson instructions: "One, two, three--JUMP!. Blow the bubbles out your nose! Keep your legs straight--little kicks!" I guess we can't say he doesn't listen!
