10 on Tuesday

1. Irene is on vacation all week, so mommy, daddy and both grandmas are taking turns staying with the boys. Mommy took Monday off and we had a busy day! We started the day with a fun playdate at the McDonalds PlayPlace with Jami, Reese and Cru. The big kids played, the babies drooled and the mommies visited. It was a nice way to spend our morning!

2. Aunt Lou and Unc were in town last weekend and we had a good time with them. Saturday evening after dinner, we were hanging out in the backyard and Carter was playing on his swingset. He decided that he wanted to make a "train" down the slide and Unc got nominated to be the caboose. After a little wiggling, they made it down and I was snapping pictures the whole way--Unc immediately said, "those better not show up on the internet!" You know me better than that, Unc!

3. Carter recently learned his address and his birthday! Instead of saying Thunderbird, he says "Funderbird" and he told me, "that's a fun word, mommy!" Also...he's very aware that he will turn three in three months.

4. Speaking of birthdays, Aunt Lou asked Carter what he wanted for his birthday. His answer: Pancakes. Sounds like an easy birthday :).

5. We also attempted some family pictures last weekend...the group shot turned out ok, but we'll have to try again for our immediate family photo. Asher wasn't so excited about it...

6. We got a fun hand-me-down toy from Brauer and Talyn recently--a water table! We tried it out yesterday and Carter loved it. He's gone to the back door several times since then saying he wants to play with "that toy" again.

7. Asher is sleeping in his crib now! We started the transition last Monday and he's done great! He's still waking about once each night, but in the mornings, we're usually greeted with this adorable face.
8. We started Asher on rice cereal last night. He wasn't too sure of that mush being shoved in his mouth, but tolerated it for awhile. If I remember right, it took several attempts before Carter accepted any new foods, so we'll keep trying.

9. We're thinking about taking a little day trip to the new Schlitterbahn in KC in a few weeks...has anyone been? We'd love to hear how it is!

10. We'll be seeing lots of friends this week--Ethan, Reed & Adyson on Thursday and then Caden and Brynn on Saturday. Such a busy social life for a 2-year old! We can't wait!
