Christmas Day (and getting ready for Santa)

We left Salina pretty late Christmas Eve, so both boys fell asleep on the way home. Asher was pretty much a zombie when we brought him inside, so we just put him to bed. Carter on the other hand perked right up when we talked about getting ready for Santa. First he set out some carrots for the reindeer and hung Santa's key on the front door (since we don't have a chimney).
Then he set out milk and cookies for the big guy. He also got to open his new PJ's, which you'll see in the next photos. Then it was off to bed so Santa could get to work.
Christmas morning, we all actually slept in until the alarm went off. Once the boys were up, they were so excited to run downstairs. Ash didn't really know what was going on, but he was excited because Carter was excited.
Carter found a Nerf gun waiting for him from Santa. Also, see those electric green Toy Story jammies? You can't miss them. Those were the ones he opened Christmas Eve...we only wear them at home ;).
Asher got a new book from Carter.
Big hugs to say THANK YOU.
Asher got monster jammies since he wasn't awake to open them the night before. Quite appropriate for our little monster.
Both boys got snow boots...good thing since we just had our first snow storm!
And both boys got a new pair of tennis shoes--Santa was very practical this year. He figured he may as well take advantage while they're still little. Carter sizing up his new "fast shoes."
Asher dazed and confused with all the mess and craziness.
Daddy (and mommy) got Cirque de Soleil tickets in his stocking--FANTASTIC show!Carter playing with Asher's new ramp racer from Santa.
All dressed up and ready for church. Asher was not thrilled about sitting still for a picture.
Carter, on the other hand, is quite the little poser these days.
After church, we headed to Colwich to celebrate with my dad's side of the family. There were lots more presents to open, more good food and fun times catching up with family.

Binoculars!Asher checking out his new stegosaurus--it moves and roars!Brad showing the kids how to work the gumball machine--they were totally fascinated.Lindsay and her little man.Aunt Cat and Tyler. This toy has been a huge hit--I remember them from WAY back when I was kid, but they're a little more high-tech now and Carter will play with it for a long time.Baby Tyler and his giraffe.Ash getting some tickles from Aunt Cathy.Three Christmases down, one to go!
