Wet and wild at Schlitterbahn!

Last weekend we headed to KC to check out the new Schlitterbahn water park. Only the first phase of the park is open this summer, but there is plenty of fun to be had. It was HOT, HOT, HOT, so the water was the place to be. It's only been open about three weeks and of course, Saturday was their busiest day so far--we guessed there were at least 3,000 people there! We spent most of our day waiting in long lines, but the rides were great! We can't wait for the rest of the park to open and we'll definitely go back!

Unc waiting in line for the Storm Blaster.Huge hot tub and swim up bar. Me, Chris, Lindsay and Jay went by ourselves for most of the day to enjoy the big rides, but my parents dropped Carter off in the afternoon so he could play for a little bit. They have a HUGE area for kids called Kinderhaven and he had a blast! There were 13 slides for kids including a big pirate's ship, a turtle, a frog and a big train.

Mom, dad and our little fish.

Carter taking a ride on the lazy river. Some of the tubes had bottoms in them so kids could sit and not fall through.
Aunt Lou demonstrating how to slide on your tummy. Choo-choo slide...sliding like Aunt Lou.
This is the biggest frog I've ever seen!Wheeee!
Turtle slide!Splish spash! Can you tell that he had fun?The whole gang!
Heading back to the car after a fun, hot day.
And just because he's so cute. Check out that beautiful sunset in the background!
