The very first summer that we moved into the neighborhood (four years ago), we had an impromptu water fight on the 4th of July. At that time, there were only about six houses on the block, so it was a pretty small neighborhood still. We all had so much fun and vowed to do it again every summer. Well, babies and life kept us busy and we never got around to it.
With the hot, muggy weather last weekend and kids/teachers heading back to school soon, we thought it was time to break out the water balloons again! The fight involved one more family and several more kids this year...and I think everyone had a blast! In fact, I'd argue to say that the adults may have had just as much or MORE fun than the kids :). We are sooo thankful to have great neighbors!
We filled over 300 balloons ourselves...and four other families brought ammunition as well. Our supply lasted about four minutes.
Melisa breaking a balloon over Carter's head...he loved every minute of it.
Carter liked to throw balloons at my feet...
He was so proud that he got mommy wet!
Poor Tiff got the brunt of a sneak attack from all the way across the street...Chris & Cooper snuck up and got her with a whole cooler full of water!
She got just a little wet...

Mal hiding behind Carter.
Can't you just hear the squeals??
Coop taking a balloon to the head.
Reanna coming after me with a balloon!
Sprinkler attack!
Every time somebody brought out more balloons, the kids went crazy!
Tiff nailing Steve with a surprise attack from behind.
And a group picture showing the aftermath.
And for nostalgia's sake...here are a couple pictures from the very first Foxfire Water Fight...these take us WAAAAY back to July 2005...
Chris, myself & Melisa getting prepared for the water war.
Look how little the kids were...and they're the "big kids" now!
We were a much smaller group back then!
