Lately, he wants to sleep "upside down," so we put his pillows at the foot of the bed. He's a crazy sleeper like his mom...often turning complete circles in the middle of the night. Note the cool Cars watch in the picture above...that's his newest treasure and it's a chore to even get it off of him for bathtime. He doesn't have a clue how to read it, but he thinks he's pretty cool to have this fun accessory! The other morning he stopped in his tracks on the way out the door..."MOM! I forgot my watch!" Crisis.

The blissful sound of sleeping babies...
It always amazes me--no matter how bad of a day we've had, no matter how many time-outs, or screaming fits or meltdowns we've gone through, at the end of the day when I check on the boys in their beds--any feelings of anxiety or stress disappear as I watch them sleeping peacefully in their beds. They are such blessings and I'm a better person because of them.
A few things I want to remember about my sleeping baby Asher: When he's totally, completely relaxed, his arms go high above his head in the "touchdown" position and he keeps them there until he wakes up. He loves to hold onto his little bear as he's falling asleep, running his fingers through the soft blankie. If he's restless, he'll turn his head back and forth, back and forth as if he's watching a tennis match...he's worn himself a nice little bald spot because of this. Another little quirk when he's restless--he'll heave his legs straight up into the air and grunt--like baby leg lifts...he must be working on those abs :). He's waking up about 3:30 or 4am each morning to eat, but he goes right back to sleep. Mommy's thankful that he's a better sleeper than his brother was at this age!
I can't forget the fun bedtime memories of my big boy Carter. He is very much a creature of strict routine. If we forget one little step, he's yelling at us before we make it down the hallway. We make a trip to the potty, read one book in bed (lately, HE wants to read to us), switch on his music, turn on his "stars" (Twilight Turtle), cover up with his lion blankie (an oldie but goodie from daddy's younger days), and we lay in bed beside him for one song. Then it's hugs and kisses and we leave him to sleep.
