Take me out to the ball game!

Since late spring, baseball has been the name of the game at our house. When the weather was a little more comfortable, we spent many an evening outside hitting live pitches, hitting off the tee, taking grounders, working on catching with two hands, etc. The Royals have been seen on our tv several nights a week, and Carter and daddy are always bargaining "one more batter, and then it's bedtime."

T-ball practice started in mid-May and and we were out at the fields every week in June. Every single game but one of ours was scheduled for 6:30pm. That helped us make it to bed on time easier, but wowsers, it was HOT! We wouldn't dare miss a game, though, and our big guy had so much fun.
Carter and his best buddy, Ian.

There were LOTS of water breaks for these kiddos.

Such focus and determination...that tongue sticking out is a strong trait that runs through our family when we're concentrating.

He's hot and sweaty, and he cannot wait for his turn to play ball!

Mr. Competitive trying to get a lead off at 3rd base...
Racing back to the dugout for snacks and drinks after the game!
Our game against the yellow team was much anticipated, after all, his three best girls are on the yellow team. Tough guy made some time on the field for a little socialization with these girls.

Reese...

The whole group: Carter, Addie, Reese & Mallorie.
Carter's defense came a long way this season, thanks to many grounders in the back yard.

Even trying out the underhand flip. :)
 There's that tongue again!
Coach Cooper trying to hold him back from running...
 "Put me in, Coach!"
Our good friend, Adyson was on the orange team, too!

Carter's cousin's came to watch his last game!
A medal and a Capri Sun...what more could a boy ask for?!?
 Cousins!
