For my birthday in April, we took a little mini vacation to see a Royals game in KC. It was opening weekend at the K, and it was also the weekend that had MAJOR tornadoes all over Kansas. So crazy weather and tornado sirens delayed our departure from home quite a bit, but we finally decided to hit the road around 7pm.
Everybody was pretty sleepy by the time we got to our hotel, so we went straight to bed. The next morning, we had two little boys who were full of energy and ready to SWIM! This momma volunteered to sit poolside and take pictures, while daddy got in the pool with the boys. It had been a long time since they'd been swimming (probably last August), so they were pumped!
After swim time, we headed out to the ball park! We found our seats and watched a couple innings, and then headed out to the outfield, or the "Little K" where all the fun stuff for kiddoes is at. The line was pretty short for kids to take batting practice, so we made that our first stop. This was Asher's first experience with the Little K, and Carter is an old pro at it.
Waiting in line...
Batter up, big guy!
Run!
Crossing home plate...
Carter's turn!
Then we rode the carousel, played on the playground and enjoyed a few more attractions before the rain came. It was a brief shower, but enough to send us back to our covered seats.
Our seats were great and the weather ended up perfect after the little shower. The Royals ended up losing, but our little family had a great time, and we left with two VERY happy boys.
