Easter 2012

Easter celebrations lasted several weeks at our house, so it deserves a lengthy blog post as well. We kicked off the fun with a neighborhood egg hunt at our house. We had five families and 11 kids this year...the hunt lasted all of about 4 minutes!
And they're OFF!!

Asher showing Karlie his treasures.
Reanna checking out her loot.
All of the kids gathered together: (l.-r.) Cru, Lynzee, Carter, Hunter, Reese, Asher, Mallorie, Reanna, Karlie, Alyssa and Cole.
Do you think he enjoyed his chocolate?
The "big" girls: Lynzee, Reese, Reanna & Mallorie.
One CRAZY bunch of boys: Carter, Cole, Cru, Hunter & Asher.
Mal and her beautiful jewelry.
Hunter found lots of cars in his eggs!
Carter giving the little ones a push on the swings.
All smiles!
After the hunt, we all walked over to the Eilrich's house. Our neighborhood all pitched in and bought the Eilrich's a tree for their yard in memory of their infant son, Kooper, who passed away last fall.Tiff had bought eggs for all of the kids to hang on Kooper's tree to celebrate Easter.
So focused...

The following week, my office hosted an egg hunt for kids and grandkids of BPU employees. Daddy brought the boys over after work, and they were excited!

Look what I found!

The Saturday of Easter weekend, the local Optimists group hosts an egg hunt in the park, and we've participated for the past five years I think! Aunt Lou and Tyler were there for the fun, too!
This is about the only other picture I have from that hunt...it was a whirlwind and it was over in a flash. But once again, full buckets and happy boys. :)
That evening (after Asher's birthday party), we found some time to dye Easter eggs. We decided to go ahead and remove their shirts, just in case things got a little messy.

And the next morning, they found some special surprises waiting for them from the Easter bunny!! KC Royals shirts, sunglasses, tootpaste and new combs--so exciting!

Our little family after church on Easter Sunday.

And another egg hunt courtesy of the Easter bunny in our back yard.

Our two favorite little boys.

And we finished the weekend with more hunting, eating and celebrating at Grandma & Papa's house in Salina. Ash found some money in one of his eggs!
Some of the cousins gathered for a picture.
Always have to have a goofy picture!

For the past several years, we've had professional Easter pictures taken in Salina with real, live bunnies. Cousin Tyler joined us this year and it was an adventure, as expected! We got a couple of keepers, though!
