1. Asher is finally potty trained. Hallelujah! Night times are still spent in a diaper, although he does wake up dry 3-4 nights a week, but day times are pretty solid. He started this journey off strong about a month before he turned two, but then he got kinda lazy about the whole thing and just preferred to pee his pants. We rode it out and pushed hard again around the beginning of October (age 2 1/2) and he decided he was OK with it.
2. Sometime last summer, I came into the living room and found this:
3. As ornery as Asher is, one thing he did well at was staying in his crib. Surprisingly, he never tried to climb out (even though he climbs on cabinets, toilets, people, furniture, etc. every chance he gets!). That phase came to an end in early August (age 28 mos.)...apparently he was far too busy to nap one day, because he came into the kitchen and greeted me when he was supposed to be IN HIS CRIB! We knew the time was coming, and we didn't want to have to worry about him tumbling out onto his head, so we enlisted daddy to take the gate off.
Last day in his crib...
4. My sister, Carter & I participated in the Race for the Cure in September. Lindsay and I ran the 5K (I pushed Carter in the stroller), and Carter did the Kids for the Cure 50 meter dash. It seems like this event grows like crazy every year...such an incredible showing for an awesome cause.
Here's most of the SassyBags team:
6. One Sunday afternoon this fall, we took advantage of a beautiful fall day and headed to the park for a picnic. The boys were stoked and it was nice to spend some down time together.

7. We did make a trip to the fair this year...we got just a few pics from our fun day out:

8. Speaking of the Fair, we did make a purchase at the Fair this year...we added a basketball goal to our driveway! Daddy had some work to do in order to get ready for this new addition, and he had some great helpers digging that big hole!
We let the boys add their handprints to the concrete base of the goal. I'm sure you're shocked to hear that Asher immediately raced over to the wet concrete and swiped his fingers through it. After fixing that nice little divot, we carefully restrained supervised him for the project.

10. October nearly ate us alive. Between football, pumpkin patches, planning a birthday party, Halloween and the other daily stuff, it seemed like we were running, sun up to sun down. It's like that every year though, and it's fun. We're ready for a little slower month of November though, and we're excited for the holidays!
9. We had Carter's very first Parent-Teacher conference last week. How can he be old enough for that already?? He's doing great and loving school...just what every mommy wants to hear--I'm so proud of our big guy!
