At the end of July, we took a family vacation to St. Louis. We'd heard from several people what a fun city it is, so we couldn't wait to experience it for ourselves. We knew it would be HOT, but we were determined to tough it out (as long as the kids could, anyways) and not let it ruin our vacation. Our first day we visited Grant's Farm, which is the ancestral home of the Busch family, as in Anheuser-Busch. Admission to the Farm and all the shows inside were free, we just had to pay for parking.
Boarding the tram to take a tour all around the farm.Asher said, "Mom, you have to take a picture for Miss Becky!" (She's a big time Longhorns fan).
A fun elephant show!
Sampling a little Anheuser-Busch product.
It was a neat little place, but as promised, It.Was.HOT. We spent a couple of hours walking around and saw one show, but by noon, we were sweltering, so we headed for some A/C. Our next stop that day was the Magic House, the St. Louis Children's Museum.
It was a lot of fun, and we kept very cool! It was a huge mansion with different themed rooms throughout the building. The kids all had a good time...they did have outdoor exhibits and activities as well, but we skipped those. It was extremely loud and crowded inside, so if you ever visit, be sure to practice patience! ;)
