He wanted to walk home by himself.

I found these photos on my cell phone from last summer, and it's just one of the little things that I don't want to forget.

 Asher, Hayden and I were driving home from daycare/work one day and as we turned the corner on to our street, Asher asked, "Mom, can I walk home by myself?" It took me a second to register what he was asking, but I said, "Right now?" Yep, he just wanted to walk a half a block home, all by himself, like a big boy. So I pulled the van over, let him out and watched as he walked about two house lengths home...all by himself. It was a little bit of a mommy moment for me, as it hit me like a ton of bricks that this little guy would be heading off to Kindergarten in exactly one year...unbelievable. But it was a small moment like that that made this boy's day.
