Ten on Tuesday.

1. We took these pics WAY back in November as I was brainstorming ideas for our Christmas card. A couple of these made the back of our cards, but the boys had so much fun, I had to share them here as well. 2. Bath time is usually a happy time at our house. I want to make sure that the boys remember a few moments of their childhood when they weren't fighting with each other.

3. This little device has been working some magic at the Allen house. Carter has always been a big night-time bed wetter. We've tried limiting his liquids and waking him up to potty before we go to sleep, but he would still wet through a night-time Pull-Up and a waterproof pad. I'd heard great things about these bedwetting alarms, so shortly after Christmas, we decided to give it a whirl. The large piece clips to Carter's pj's, up by his shoulder, the cord is slipped under his pj's and the yellow clip is attached to his underwear. As soon as the sensor on the clip detects moisture, the alarm vibrates and makes a sound that wakes Carter up. For the first couple weeks, he would continue wetting the bed, but lately, he's been either holding it all night, or waking up on his own to go potty during the night! We're so proud of him and make it a big deal every morning if he's remained dry all night. We still have accidents every now and then, but he hasn't worn a pull-up since the beginning of January, and as soon as he stays dry for seven nights in a row, he gets to go to a movie!

4. We've had LOTS of snow days in the last month...tomorrow marks #7. Daddy has kept the boys home with him for almost all of those days. A few weeks ago on one of those days, I get a call at work and Chris says, "Your son looks like a greased pig." Just what every mother wants to hear. Apparently Asher (surprise, surprise!) got into the pantry, got out the vegetable oil, openend it and attempted to drink it. We don't think he ingested too much, but he and the floor were a greasy, slippery mess. I quietly said a prayer thanking God that I wasn't home for that incident.

5. Later that same day, I get another phone call at work. This time, Chris says, "Your son is on his third change of clothes and his second bath of the day." Apparently, the vegetable oil had worked it's way through Asher's system and he had pooped all the way out of his diaper and up to his shoulder blades. Mommy said another quick prayer of thanks and assured daddy that I'd be home soon.

6. The vegetable oil incident was our last straw, as we've been cleaning up messes multiple times each day, and I ordered locks for both the pantry door and the lazy susan. They finally came today and Chris installed them right away. Asher was a little confused at first at his restricted access, but then he got mad. Tonight I watched as he was fiddling with the lazy susan lock and finally got right down in front of it and yelled, "NO NO!"

7. Another snow day home with daddy was spent making cookies. Both boys love to help cook, so I'm sure they had a blast and we all enjoyed eating the goodies.
8. Daddy was out of town last weekend for a coaching clinic, and it was too cold to play outside, so we brought the snow inside one evening to keep the boys busy. We filled the sink with clean snow and the boys went to town with cups, spoons, bowls and food coloring.
9. We finally got a couple of small projects done in the basement that have been on our list for a long time. I tackled the first one...a display of photos in the boys' playroom. I mounted a bunch of 8x10 and 11x14 pictures on foam board and hung them with 3M velcro tabs. I'll probably change up the photos as the kids grow, and may even hang more on the other walls someday.
Chris completed the other project--pendant lights above the bar. We've had a yellow wire hanging out of the ceiling for about four years now, and finally decided to get it finished. This project ended up being much more complicated than we predicted (that's why you should finish a job all at once with new construction), but it got done and looks great. Way to go Chris!

10. We've got at least a foot of snow on the ground and it's still falling as I type...I'm sooo ready for spring! Stay warm!
