Speckle Your Shirt 5K

Back in April, the YMCA hosted a homemade version of the Color Run, called the Speckle Your Shirt 5K. Tiff, Jami & I had been training for the last six months for an upcoming half marathon, so when we caught wind of this, we were excited to participate in a little warm-up race! I pretty much had to drag Chris there, but he and the boys joined me for the family friendly event. We were all decked out in white so that we could be covered in bright multi-colored powder at each of the five "color stations."

 Here we go! The boys started off at a brisk clip!

 The boys wore themselves out after about 3/4 mile, and retreated to their wagon. That was quite a load to pull while running.

 Some of Chris' students were tossing the color, so needless to say, he got the brunt of the attack.

 All done! I'm sad to say that our shirts were barely "speckled" at all. The powder did not stick, so that was kind of a bummer. :(

 But the good news is...we made it! And sweet Miss Hayden and Grammy greeted us at the finish line!

 The kids got ornery at the end and doused their moms. The ornery dad that put them up to it was there to capture it all on camera ;).
