Asher had been waiting for his 4th birthday to arrive for MONTHS...so when we decided to have his party a week before his actual birthday, he was elated! He's also been SO EXCITED to start playing t-ball this summer, so a baseball theme fit the birthday boy perfectly!
And some super fun cake pops...the kids' favorites!
The goodies were ready...
The decorations were in place...
Bring on the party guests!
We had big plans to turn our backyard in to a mini baseball stadium, but mother nature had other plans. Out of the 10 total birthday parties we've thrown for our kids, believe it or not, this was the first time we've been forced to stay inside. We decided to make the best of it, cleared out the garage, and adapted our games to celebrate "inside style."
This wasn't really an "inside" game, but I just couldn't scrap it...a good ole' fashioned seed spittin' contest! You can't have a baseball party with out sunflower seeds, right?!?
After the games, we moved downstairs for some ballpark snacks: nachos, pretzels with cheese, mini corndogs, etc.
The birthday boy scored some awesome presents including a new bat, a bat bag and baseball cleats! He's all ready for t-ball now!
And finally, just a few pictures from his actual birthday...Asher woke up to presents from mom, dad, Carter & Hayden...
...and birthday donuts on the special birthday plate!
Happy birthday, Ash Man! At your 4-year well child check, you weighed 39 lbs. and stretched to 38 inches tall--I affectionately refer to you as my "little square." You're a short little guy, but what you lack in size, you more than make up for in spirit. Everywhere we go, people comment on how hilarious you are. Your hilarity/orneriness/naughtiness make me shake my head every day, but the light and laughter you bring to our family far outweigh the stressful moments. You're loving preschool and cannot wait to be "big like Carter." You are such a loving little boy...when you're not getting in to trouble. You're the first to come snuggle with me, offering to scratch my back, giving hugs and kisses and you are such an awesome big brother. I am one lucky momma to call you mine, buddy! I love you to the moon and back!
