The day after the big feast, it was Carter's turn for Thanksgiving fun. His class put on a very impressive Thanksgiving play, depicting the First Thanksgiving. Mrs. Burghart sent their lines home a couple weeks before the play, and Carter was pumped that he got to lead the whole class in the play, and had the first speaking part! That's the Mayflower he's holding, and they're walking across the Atlantic Ocean.
"Many years ago, we, the pilgrims, came to America. We sailed across the Atlantic Ocean on the Mayflower."
Indians and pilgrims making friends.
A few songs about God and the first Thanksgiving.
I was SO SO proud of every one of these kindergarten kiddos. Memorizing lines and reciting them loud and proud in front of a large group is no small task. I'm sure they were nervous, but each one of them did it, and they were AWESOME! As we were reflecting on our blessings during the Thanksgiving season, this was a great reminder of how very thankful we are for all the wonderful things Mrs. Burghart instills in our children.
Carter and Reese.
The little sibs that got to come enjoy the show--Asher, Everlee, Cru & Sam. Future pilgrims and indians!
