Asher at 2.

Yeah, so he's 2 years and 2 months by now, but I wanted to get all this down so I don't forget the details of this crazy age...

All About Asher

*Weighs 28 lbs. (50th percentile)

*Stands 32 1/4" tall (10th percentile)

*Wearing size 18 month - 2T clothes and size 6-7 shoes.

*Counts to 10 (but always skips 7 & 8).

*Loves to sing, and does so with passion (he closes his eyes and bobs his head).

*His songs of choice right now are Twinkle, Twinkle and Happy Birthday to Asher.

*Loves and despises his brother all at the same time.

*Very sympathetic. If we want him to do something or come to us, all we have to do is pretend that we're sad or crying and he'll come running right over. If he hears a baby crying, he immediately perks up and says, "Mama, baby crying!"

*Extremely independent--everything is "Me-self! Me-self!"

*Doing great at potty training. He's 95% done with the poop part, and he's even starting to tell us when he needs to potty.

*Whenever he toots, his eyes light up and he says, "Ooops, BURP!" and then cracks up at himself. Such a BOY.

*Takes one nap a day, usually 1 1/2-2 hours.

*Goes to bed around 8:30 every night, and usually sleeps all night until about 7am.

*Is quickly developing his brother's love of all things sports.

*Is into absolutely everything that he's not supposed to be. If it has a lid, he's unscrewing it. If it has a pump, he's squirting it. If it's a drawer, he's opening it. If he can barely squeeze his chubby little hands inside, he's grabbing something out.

*His absolute favorite book is Moo Baa by Sandra Boynton. He has it memorized.

*Knows no strangers. He'll smile and yell "HI" to anybody we walk by at the grocery store or ball games. If they don't respond, he just yells louder.

*Wakes up smiling almost every morning, and his first word almost every day is "Breffast?" (Breakfast).

*Eats pretty much anything we put in front of him.

*Is a very messy eater. We don't even bother with washcloths to clean him up, we just haul him straight to the sink to brush him off, and then run his hands directly under the faucet. He really gets into his meals.

*Is turning into kind of a brute. If Carter is aggravating him or has something he wants, he will kick, scratch, pinch or hit in order to get what he wants. And he's completely honest about it after the fact--we'll ask him if he hit Carter and he very bluntly says, "yep."

*He's been biting at daycare. Only one kid and only occasionally, but still naughty...and very frustrating as a mommy.

*LOVES gum. He does pretty well at chewing it, too. That's his treat of choice for going potty. That's also the first thing we take away if he's naughty.

*Is still a momma's boy at heart, but slowly letting daddy in a little more every day.

*Gives his daddy new patches of grey hairs and his mommy major headaches nearly every day, but beyond that, he is constantly making us laugh. He is such a joyful mess and the perfect addition to our little family.
