Ten on Tuesday

1. First and foremost, if anyone is interested in borrowing the beautiful apparel that was showcased in the previous post (ugly sweaters), we could make arrangements. However, I'm not sure that we could part with them permanently, as they may become valuable treasures someday.

2. Last weekend we took Carter to this cute little Christmas display in town. Some generous people have set up a lot full of lights and inflatables and the kids can ride a little barrel train around the yard. It was really cold, but Carter was excited to strap on his snow boots and take a ride. The cookies were an added bonus!3. Have I mentioned that I'm not a big fan of winter? One or two light snowfalls are ok, but these sub-zero temperatures, nasty wind chills, icy roads and shoveling the driveway stinks. Not to mention that bundling kids up in bulky coats, hats & gloves requires an extra five minutes every time we leave the house AND causes grouchy children. Ok, rant over. Spring can't get here soon enough for this momma.

3. One thing I do love about this time of year is getting Christmas cards in the mail. We got seven today plus our own back from the printers. That's the highlight of my lunch hour, checking the mailbox. Exciting life, huh?

4. Carter and I started baking this week. He LOVES to help me cook...most of the time when he's helping, I'm trying to minimize the mess. He also tries to see how close he can get his tongue to the bowl/beaters before I notice. Little stinker.5. We are hosting Christmas in Mac this year for my mom's side of the family. A group of 24 people will be gathering at our house and my parents' house this weekend. We can't wait for all the family, food & fun!!

6. Elliott (our elf) has been making the rounds at our house this month. Carter has found him hanging on the fan, sitting on the toilet, chilling in the wreath, dangling from the closet door and many other silly places. That Elliott...you never know where he'll be next!

7. I've failed to mention that Asher cut his first tooth on Thanksgiving Day! He's been chewing and drooling for months, but we finally felt it pop through. It's sticking up quite a bit now and he's constantly running his tongue over it...I love the curiosity of babies. We're pretty sure that others will pop through soon. 8. Little man is also *this close* to crawling. He goes from sitting to the crawling position all the time, but he keeps one leg tucked underneath him, so it's hard to get his belly over the lump. He can scoot backwards quite well, but he still uses rolling as his primary mode of transportation. I tell people that his shape (ROUND) is very conducive to rolling :).Our guy's increasing mobility makes it tricky to change his diapers and clothes. If you're not pinning him down, he's flipping over on the changing table ready to move.
9. Almost every morning as we're driving to daycare, Carter has been asking me "Mommy, what time does 'da reindeer wake up?" Hmmm...does anybody have the answer to this one?
10. A quick shot before we left for work/daycare earlier this week. I'll probably have to pay them to sit this close to each other (and smile) in about 10 years.
