I read about Elf on the Shelf on several blogs last Christmas and thought it would be a fun tradition to start for our kids this year. We found the kit at a bookstore last month and introduced our new friend on Monday. The kit comes with a book that we read as a family that night. It explains that Santa can't watch every boy and girl, so he needs elves to help him out. He sends an elf to our house every day and then they report back to the North Pole every night to tell Santa if the kids have been naughty or nice (questionable at our house lately). The elf is hiding in a new spot each morning and kids jump out of bed to search for him. Very cute story...Carter was mesmerized and had lots of questions. At the end of the story, each family gets to name their elf...ours was christened Elliott.

The next morning, Elliott was found hanging on the front door. This morning he was checking out the fridge. Carter is sooo excited every morning to look for him.

Where will Elliott be tomorrow morning? I think we're going to have a LOT of fun with this...
