Our days as a family of three are numbered...in just a little more than two weeks we will be enjoying our new son/baby brother. Daddy & Carter are enjoying spring break this week and the awesome spring weather. Carter's logged many hours on the swingset and spent all morning yesterday playing basketball & baseball with Aunt Lou & Unc. He is definitely an outdoors lover...he's learned to make good use of his puppy dog eyes and pouty lips and whines "I wanna go outside..." --This summer should be fun. Chris has made it his personal goal to see how many golf games he can squeeze in this week and Carter is itching to "golf with daddy."
Mommy's high school friends recently threw a little shower celebrating our newest little guy. We had a wonderful time watching all the babies play together and we were spoiled with lots of diapers & wipes. Thanks so much girls, we love you!
As you can see in the new pictures, Carter & mommy teamed up to make some heart-shaped Valentine cookies to take to daycare. Carter loves to help us in the kitchen and he loves it even more if cookies and/or eating are involved. The cookies turned out very yummy and all his friends enjoyed them at their party.
Potty training is going great! Occasionally Carter feels himself starting to potty in his pants, but he stops right away and tells us "I need to potty!" He still wears a pull-up at night, but we are very proud of his progress so far. The little stinker is learning to use this potty power in public though. Anytime we're out and about, he thinks it's his mission to check out the restroom facilities and asks every 10 minutes to go potty. We don't feel like we can tell him no at this point, so we're making lots of trips to the bathroom during church and when we go out to eat.
Carter is slowly grasping the idea of a baby brother. He knows that the baby is in mommy's tummy and understands that all the new equipment we've been digging out of the basement is for his baby brother, but I'm not convinced that he understands this new baby will be coming home to live with us...PERMANENTLY. We try to discuss it a lot and he seems interested...we'll see what happens when the big day comes.
