As promised, I updated pics of our recent family vacation. In late February, the three of us plus Mindy's parents, sister & brother-in-law took off for sunny Florida! We enjoyed 6 fantastic days in the Sunshine State and it was a nice get-away from the nasty Kansas weather.
Carter experienced his first airplane rides. On the way there, we had two flights and he did very well on both. We had not purchased a ticket for him, but on the first flight there were extra seats so he was able to ride in his car seat. The second flight he rode on our laps and luckily slept part of the time. His ears did not bother him at all (I was worried!) and overall he behaved himself fairly well for a 16-month old!
We spent our first 3 days in Orlando and visited Islands of Adventure (a roller coaster park), Universal Studios (more movie-themed attractions) and a comedy dinner theater. Chris, Mindy, Steve & Lindsay all LOVED the roller coasters while Carter, Pam & Jay mainly stayed on the ground.
The last part of our trip we spent in Miami with some friends, the Kumles. There we took an airboat tour of the Everglades (and saw several alligators up close & personal!), went to the beach and Carter got to play in the ocean and visited a bumper car amusement park.
Aside from Pam getting very sick, we all had a great vacation and even brought back a little tan (it's all gone by now!). Enjoy the pics!
