See how steep that slide is? It took me some gumption to kick off and go.
Our boys are right in the middle of this tunnel, suspended about 6 stories off the ground.
You can see how long the slide is in this picture (see the red arrows).
The bottom of the Monster Slide.
Check out this incredible Shark/Under the Sea area. You could walk up into the mouth of the shark and there were all kinds of hidden slides and tunnels inside. Many of the openings are only large enough for children, which was a little nerve wracking because you don't know where they end up. We finally just told the boys to stay together, and that we would be waiting for them at the entrance of the shark. They found their way out after a LOT of fun inside.
This was the spiral staircase leading to the 10 story slide. We had Hayden's stroller with us, so she & I stayed below, but Chris and the boys make the 10-15 minute climb up that staircase to go down the slide, only to find out around the 7th floor, that the wait was over 30 minutes, and Asher was too short to ride. Bummer! It still looked very cool. If you ever visit St. Louis, this place is a MUST SEE. Our only regret is that we didn't plan for more time here.
That evening we headed to Busch Stadium for a St. Louis Cardinals game. We'd been debating trying to hit a game while we were there, and then we found a fantastic combo package for Six Flags tickets & a Cardinals game...too good to pass up! Chris & I would love to take our kids to as many MLB ballparks as we can before they're off on their own, and this was a great opportunity.
We determined that it would be safest and easiest to take a public transit bus downtown to the stadium. Here are the boys waiting for the bus...the characters around us were a *little* shady, but it all worked out fine.
Big boys on the bus.
Busch Stadium, here we come!
It was a very nice, well kept ballpark, but Chris & I agreed, it's no Kauffman Stadium. We Royals fans don't know how good we have it with all fun kids activities in the outfield. Our kids got a little restless during an entire 9-inning ball game, but it was still a very cool experience.
