Carter's Superhero Birthday Party!

It was a beautiful day for a birthday party...and the birthday boy was beyond excited. He finally took a nap (a very short one), and waited for his friends to arrive.

The invites were sent... The capes were sewn...
The masks and power bands were assembled...The cake was baked...Now bring on the superheroes!!
The cutest little baby superhero made his entrance in style...Super Tyler! To kick off the party, the kids had to work together to save Spiderman who was frozen in a big block of ice. They used squirt guns and cups of warm water to melt the ice. Carter and Cora were spraying as fast as they could.Caden and Addie helped by pouring cups of water. Asher mainly just poured the water down his shirt. Finally Spiderman was saved and each little superhero earned their mask and power band. Here's Carter gearing up.Next they had to complete an obstacle course of climbing up the ladder, racing down the slide, throwing a ping pong ball in a bucket and finally weaving through some cones to the fence. The birthday boy went first. After that task was completed, the kids all earned their personalized capes!
Super Caden.Super Mallorie.Super Cora.Super Carter. The final mission of the day was to capture the villains amongst us:
Evil Papa...and Evil Unc (who doesn't look so evil right now because he's holding the cutest little baby superhero)! The superheroes were each given their weapons (a can of silly string) and released to destroy the evil in the backyard. Super Carter was on a mission!
Super Reanna got Evil Unc backed into a corner and brought him to his knees.
Super Cora got some assistance with her ammunition from her mommy.Evil Unc--DESTROYED!!!Evil Papa was still on the loose, but the superheroes took quick action.
He was no match for their super powers.Evil Papa--DESTROYED!!Poor little Super Tyler got caught in the cross-fire!And while the little ones weren't quite ready for silly string, they had a blast with their spray bottles. After fighting the evil enemies, the superheroes worked up an appetite. It was time for birthday cake!!All of the superheroes waiting for Grandma to cut the cake.Yummy cake made our superheroes happy!
And then it was time to open presents. Carter and company tore through the gifts so fast, mom and dad could barely keep up!There were LOTS of helpers ;).Big hugs for Mal to say THANK YOU!!

And we would like to say THANK YOU to everyone who made this superhero party a success. First, we're pretty sure that we have the most talented grandmas ever. Grammy spent countless hours cutting, sewing and pressing 18 superhero capes. They were a huge hit and something each of the kids can use for a long time. "Ernie Grandma" outdid herself once again with the AWESOME superhero cake. I know she spent many hours (and even re-did it at the last minute) and were all in awe. Great job grandmas!!

Not very many boys have a papa and uncle that will dress up as bad guys and submit themselves to being covered in goop by a group of 4-year-olds. Thank you Bob and Jay...the kids thoroughly enjoyed attacking you!

Finally, thank you to all of the friends and family who took time out their weekend to come help our little guy celebrate. He was in 4-year-old paradise and that makes this mommy smile.
